A DIFFERENT COACHING
All of the sudden all these years have gone by… oblivious of how many still lie ahead makes me think on how I lived my life and how I would like to live.
I would like to start by thanking. Thanking for all that I had, the people I met and the experiences I lived.
Time flies but it goes faster when we do the things we love. And in my case I have done so many things that I loved (and still love…) from watching the sunset, swimming in the sea, playing with my daughters, learning from my students, being with my family, talking with my coaches, partying with my friends, making happening with my colleagues, dreaming with my husband…
On the top of these I have always loved writing, but I have only shared what I write in private circles. I love turning my emotions into words, playing with the keyboard, rummaging through the imagination.
The people that know me well also know that even though I am not attached to what the calendar is telling me, my birthday is an invitation to reflect. And that invitation made me decide that this is the moment I will start sharing my thoughts with a wider audience.
I do believe that everything happens for a reason. While I was in the midst of my reflection I had the privilege of being in London with the group of people with whom I had the opportunity to start exploring the world of coaching. I say exploring, because for me coaching is not something that can be taught. Coaching represents a way of living and a way of being in the world. Being a coach is to allow ourselves to be always a beginner. To accept the tension between what we are and what we believe we would like to become. This is what makes us human and empathetic towards our clients when they decide to embark on a coaching program.
Changing is not easy. On the contrary, changing is extremely difficult! It is a painful process that can only be successful if there is real commitment towards a development program that doesn’t rely on checklists and false promises.
As a graduate of the New Ventures West I had the opportunity to explore a methodology that looks at the person as a whole, including the relationships he establishes and the environment he lives in. This is the methodology I use in my coaching and the one I truly believe in. To be able to coach I had to be coached myself and experience in firsthand how does it feel to embark on a development journey.
As a Coach, I help people addressing what is most important in a way that leaves them more competent, more fulfilled and more skillful in facing future challenges and opportunities.
As a writer I will speak about all this.
